DSP handheld controller

G-code for CNC machines with a DSP handheld controller

For a CNC machine that uses a DSP handheld remote (e.g. Richauto A11 or A18), choose the DSP handheld machine in Prakobd to get the file in the form the remote reads: no comments and no tool change commands. Copy the G-code files to a USB drive, plug it into the remote, and run the files one by one by number. The files are split by bit and already ordered as drilling, grooving, then cutting. Set the file extension to one the remote can read in the machine setup

What do I get?

Copy to USB and run

Each sheet gets its own G-code files split by bit. File names show the order and the bit number. Copy the sheet's whole folder to a USB drive and choose the files from the controller.

Set the extension to match your handheld controller

The default is .nc. In the CNC machine settings, change it to an extension your handheld controller can read, such as .tap or .txt.

Origin per the file header

By default, X0 Y0 is the lower-left corner of the sheet and Z0 is the sheet surface. This is noted in the header of every file; set your handheld controller to match before running.

Parts stay put while cutting

Holding tabs can be turned on. Parts stay attached to the sheet by small bridges until everything is cut. Good for machines without a strong vacuum table.

Workflow

  1. Set up your machine in Prakobd

Choose the DSP handheld machine and enter the bit, speed, spindle speed and a file extension the remote can read

  2. Design and check the sheet nesting

See every sheet and the warnings in the CNC nesting tab

  3. Copy the files to a USB drive

Download the production file set or one sheet at a time. Unzip it and copy the sheet's G-code files to a USB drive.

  4. Set the origin and run by number

Set X0 Y0 Z0 on the handheld controller to match the file header, then run the files one at a time in order.

Production file cost from real examples

Designing, viewing in 3D and viewing the nesting are free. You pay credits when you download the production file pack (ZIP), which is charged by the number of sheets and parts in the job.

Who it's for

  • CNC Router machines controlled by a DSP handheld controller
  • Small shops that want ready-to-run files from the job size
  • If your handheld controller cannot read G-code, use the layered DXF and create the toolpaths in the CAM software you already use.

Frequently asked questions

What does the production file cost for DSP handheld controller?

Design for free. You pay credits when you download the production file pack (ZIP), charged by the number of sheets and parts in the job. Example: Grid cabinet 9 Bay 107 credits (≈ 214 THB) · Stage platform 2.4 × 4.9 m 447 credits (≈ 894 THB) · Wall panel Upright arch pattern 60 credits (≈ 120 THB)

Can a DSP handheld controller read files from Prakobd?

Yes. Choose the DSP handheld machine when exporting. The file has no comments or Thai text and no tool change commands, and it is split into one file per bit. We recommend a dry run above the sheet, or cutting the free fit test set, before the first job, to check the origin with your remote model

The handheld controller can't find the files

It's mostly a file extension issue. Choose an extension your handheld can read in the Export production files window, then download again (the same design downloaded again within 24 hours is not charged credits twice), and put the file in the folder the handheld searches

Can a single-bit machine do drilling and grooving?

Yes. With a single bit, every operation uses that bit. Holes smaller than the bit are drilled as pilot points, and the file tells you to continue drilling with a hand drill.
