Finger joints calculated for you
Finger joints around the box adjust to the real thickness and fit value, with laser kerf allowance, or dog-bone and T-bone corner relief for CNC bits
boxes and trays
Prakobd designs gift boxes with six finger-jointed sides, divided trays, pen holders, desk organizer trays and storage crates on the web. Choose from 9 examples in the box and tray category, enter the outside or inside size and the measured material thickness, and you get a 3D design and SVG and DXF files for laser or CNC with kerf and joint fit already allowed for. Designing is free; you pay credits when you download production files
Finger joints around the box adjust to the real thickness and fit value, with laser kerf allowance, or dog-bone and T-bone corner relief for CNC bits
Open-top boxes and trays divided into columns × rows, with divider panels notched to cross each other, for example a 3 × 2 tray for a drawer or a 2 × 2 pen holder.
A closed 6-sided box: cut the lid separately afterwards or make a slip-on lid. Add handle cut-outs, holes, or a logo and stencil pattern from an SVG file onto the panels.
Laser jobs use acrylic, thin wood, PP board, foam board or paper. CNC jobs use plywood, MDF or PVC foam board. Enter the real thickness and save it as a profile to reuse.
Choose an example such as a gift box, a 6-compartment divided tray or a storage crate, or start from the closed 6-sided box and open-top box / tray templates.
Choose whether you enter the outside size or the inside opening, then enter the measured thickness, the kerf or the bit size, and the fit.
Set the number of divider slots, choose finger joints, tabs or butt joints, then rotate and explode the parts in the 3D view.
Cut the fit test kit to find the setting that fits, then download the production pack or per-sheet files to cut
Designing, viewing in 3D and viewing the nesting are free. You pay credits when you download the production file pack (ZIP), which is charged by the number of sheets and parts in the job.
| Example | Sheets | Parts | Credits | ≈ THB (regular pack) | ≈ THB (first big-pack top-up) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4-compartment pen holder | 1 | 7 | 62 | 124 | 62 |
| gift box | 1 | 6 | 59 | 118 | 59 |
| Storage crate | 1 | 5 | 59 | 118 | 59 |
Sheets counted against the standard 1220 × 2440 mm sheet · regular pack 1 credit ≈ 2 THB · On your first big-pack top-up, 1 credit ≈ 1 THB · New members get 80 credits to try · Price as of 2 Nov 2026 See all at Pricing and credit packs
Design for free. You pay credits when you download the production file pack (ZIP), charged by the number of sheets and parts in the job. Example: 4-compartment pen holder 62 credits (≈ 124 THB) · gift box 59 credits (≈ 118 THB) · Storage crate 59 credits (≈ 118 THB)
Measure the real thickness and enter it in the material step, then adjust the fit value: a positive value loosens it and a negative value tightens it, in steps of 0.1–0.2 mm. Or cut the fit test kit first. For laser work, don't compensate for kerf again in the machine
Yes. In the size step you choose whether to enter outside size or inner bay size, and the program calculates the parts accordingly. Good for boxes that must hold items of an exact size
Yes. Add cutouts, holes and grooves in the extras step, or bring in an SVG shape to cut as a pattern, or draw in Illustrator / CorelDRAW and send it in with the Prakobd Link plugin
Yes. The designs and files you create are yours, and you can use them for production or sale. Always check the sizes and do a test cut before real production
