VCarve / Aspire

Layered DXF for VCarve, Aspire and other CAM software

If your shop already creates toolpaths in VCarve, Aspire, ArtCAM or other CAM software, Prakobd takes care of the part CAM does not do: designing the cabinet from its dimensions, breaking it into parts, joints and nesting the sheets. It then exports a layered DXF per job, in millimeters, with layer names that give the groove depth and the drill hole size. Import it into your CAM and pick the layers to create toolpaths right away.

What do I get?

One layer per operation

CUT-OUT for the outer cut, CUT-IN for inner openings, POCKET for grooves, DRILL for holes, SCORE for scoring and BEND for fold lines, each on its own clearly separated layer

Layer names tell you the depth

Groove layers are named by depth. For example, POCKET-7_5 means 7.5 mm deep. Set up the toolpath once for the whole layer.

The line is the part's actual size

Set your CAM to cut CUT-OUT outside the line and CUT-IN inside the line. Inside corners already allow for the bit with dog-bone or T-bone relief.

Sheets already nested for you

A full-sheet DXF with the parts placed as nested by Prakobd, or download the separate parts and nest them in your own CAM

Production file cost from real examples

Designing, viewing in 3D and viewing the nesting are free. You pay credits when you download the production file pack (ZIP), which is charged by the number of sheets and parts in the job.

Who it's for

  • For shops already using VCarve, Aspire, ArtCAM or Fusion that want cabinet designs broken into parts for them
  • Machinists who want to control every toolpath themselves

Frequently asked questions

What does the production file cost for VCarve / Aspire?

Design for free. You pay credits when you download the production file pack (ZIP), charged by the number of sheets and parts in the job. Example: Grid cabinet 9 Bay 107 credits (≈ 214 THB) · clear acrylic 6-sided box 59 credits (≈ 118 THB) · Wall panel Upright arch pattern 60 credits (≈ 120 THB)

What units does the DXF use?

Millimeters, one layer per operation. Groove and drill layers give the depth or size in the layer name, using _ in place of the decimal point.

Do I need to set tool compensation myself?

In CAM, choose cutting outside the line for CUT-OUT and inside the line for CUT-IN, because the line is the part's actual size. G-code from Prakobd already has tool compensation applied.

Is there an SVG?

There is also a layered SVG like the DXF, for software that works best with SVG
